- commenced operations in 1992, is a 100%
Export Oriented Unit. The manufacturing
plant is located 25kms away from the City
of Chennai on the Old Mahabalipuram Road,
in Chengalpattu Taluk.

Material

Chettinad Granites is engaged in quarrying,
cutting, polishing, finishing and exporting
granites. It owns quarries of different
varieties of colours including Kashmir white,
Multicolour red and Ocean green to meet
a regular and plentiful demand of products.
Additionally, it has access to quarries
for premium colours spread in the Deccan
Plateau. The company exports Raw Blocks
from these quarries to Australia, Canada,
Israel, Hongkong, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan
and U.S.
Process
The
world famous Italian giants have supplied
the machinery. The Slab cutting Gangsaw
- FRUGOLI make, can handle 100 to 150 slabs
in one setting allowing a faster down feed
and higher output. The Levibreton Chain
Polishing equipment from BRETON, Italy has
a Electronic profile reader which helps
to process irregular shaped slabs and produces
on an average, 250sq. metres of Slabs in
one shift. Module Panel Line has longitudinal
and crosscutting machines, each with six
cutting heads manufactured by TEMA LONGINOTTI,
Italy. The heads can be adjusted to a minimum
distance of 300mm between them. The plant
has a production capacity of 45,000 sq.
metre per annum.
Finished
Product
The
finished goods, which include from polished
random slabs (9 feet in length and 5
feet in width of 2 & 3 centimetre thickness),
module panels, tabletops, kitchentops,
flooring and wall cladding having
very high degree of gloss & aesthetic look
is being supplied the world over. Our strength
lies in value addition, such as half bull
nosing, full bull nosing, edge polishing,
provision of brass inlay and enhancing of
colour through a specialty process.
The
coloured granite processed by SICL are BLACK
GALAXY, MULTICOLOUR RED, TAN BROWN, TROPICAL
GREEN, COLOMBO JUBRANA, RAW SILK, RUBY RED.
