Ship Management Services was promoted by
the House of Chettinad during September
1999 and is functioning as a division of
Chettinad Logistics Pvt.Ltd. The division
has been promoted mainly with the object
of providing total solutions to the growing
need of technical and personnel management
of ships for economical and efficient operations..
The
Shipping Division main line of activities
include:
- Technical
Management of various types of ships,
barges and other crafts
- Personnel
Management and Manning Agency Services
- Competitive
placement of vessels under Charter
- Hull
and Machinery Insurance of vessels, P&I
cover of vessels and negotiation with
underwriters / P&I Clubs for any potential
claims.
- Construction
and Management of self propelled cargo
barges and oil barges.
- Sale
and Purchase of Ships
Briefly
the division is focused to serve to the
unique requirement of Owners for the protection
of interest and custodianship of assets.
Chettinad
Ship Management Services manages the bulk
carriers owned by South India Corporation
Ltd. The vessels placed under charter with
reputed charterers are on international
trade and are equipped for cargo handling
in any part of the world. Specific emphasis
are laid down to maintain the asset value
of ships, environmental protection and the
vessels managed are geared for any Port
State Control. The oil barge is with IOC
charter at Cochin
The
Ship Management Division has been accredited
International Safety Management Code (ISM)
and awarded with Document of Compliance
by the Directorate General of Shipping.
The division with its marine expertise and
experienced professionals is confident of
managing any type of vessels under any flag.
